Aquarium Pyramid: The Aquarium Pyramid is the largest pyramid at Moody Gardens. It houses four distinct ocean environments. When wandering through this big blue pyramid, you and your family will be entertained and entranced by the five species of penguins, the furry seals, and the famous Squirt, our blind sea lion. The colorful fish and coral reefs are nature’s art at its finest. Watch the sharks, sea turtles, eels, and tropical fish swim all around you as you walk through an underwater tunnel!
Rainforest Pyramid: A major enhancement project has allowed guests to experience the Rainforest Pyramid in a whole new way! You can now walk through an entry that overlooks a new Amazon River otter exhibit. A new treetop path leads you through the canopy level of the pyramid, allowing you to explore and see the monkeys, sloths, and other tree-dwellers closer than ever. Don’t forget to surround yourself with beautiful butterfly species in the butterfly exhibit. There are ten stories of rainforest magic to explore!
Moody Gardens Theaters. Choose from three different theaters, giving you three different experiences. At the MG 3D Theater you can enjoy larger-than-life images projected onto the largest movie screen in Texas. The Ridefilm combines both ride and a film, and the 4D Special FX Theater allows you to see, hear, feel, and smell the action with special effects such as wind, smoke, mist, leg ticklers, and seat buzzers!

Feel like you are a part of the movies in the Moody Gardens 3D Theater. Once you put on your 3D glasses you will experience the realistic three-dimensional images projected onto a gigantic six-story screen.
This season experience the documentary, To The Arctic 3D. This heartfelt film takes you through the journey of a mother polar bear and her two seven-month old cubs across their icy home. It’s a story of love, survival, and adventure on the majestic Arctic. The beautiful scenery and captivating images are presented in breathtaking IMAX® 3D, giving viewers an up-close view of the immense glaciers, massive snow-bound peaks, and spectacular waterfalls.
While the imagery of To The Artic 3D is incredible, so is the story that accompanies it. Meryl Streep brings beautiful narration to this tale of a land far away with exotic animals you wouldn’t normally be able to observe in their natural habitat.
To The Arctic 3D is the perfect film for you and your family to enjoy this season. With the 3D imagery, you will feel as if you are exploring the Arctic yourself, but without the below-freezing temperatures! The family friendly story is pleasing to parents and kids alike. The Arctic Ice Cap is shrinking each summer—and by 2050 or earlier will be reduced to a small fringe on the coast of Canada and Greenland. Only about 20,000 polar bears remain, and their survival is in jeopardy. This film takes viewers on a captivating journey of survival in the Arctic wilderness.
You’ll have until Sunday, April 22 to impress us with your best caption! As part of the fun, we’ll be throwing in some To the Arctic 3D related prizes for the best two captions.
